Terms of Use

We appreciate you choosing The Crafty Elk Lodge for your retreat in the North Georgia mountains. We hope you will make the most of this home, its amenities, and your opportunity to relax and visit the surrounding area.   Please take a moment to familiarize everyone in your party with the terms of use.  If anything is unclear, please contact us so we can explain anything in further detail to avoid any misunderstandings.

  1. We are located on a small farm in the mountain town of Fairmount, GA which is just outside of Jasper, GA.

  2. Please keep in mind that being on a farm means we share the area with all manner of wildlife from bugs, bees, and snakes to deer, groundhog, flying bugs, foxes, stray dogs, and more.

  3. Encounters with the creatures that also inhabit the area are common and may occur during your stay.

  4. We have many animals who live on the farm including our cat, Max and our three dogs, Gracie, Asta (like Pasta without the "P"), and Poe.  They like interacting with our guests if you want to interact with them.

  5. We also have a variety of farm animals which, at any given time, can range from smaller animals such as chickens, rabbits, and ducks to larger livestock such as cows, horses, alpacas, donkeys, sheep, etc.

  6. Some of the animals that live on the farm (e.g., chickens) openly roam around the property while others (cows, horses, etc.) are secured in their own area and the barn.

  7. All interactions with any of the farm animals may only occur with the prior knowledge and consent of the owners and your host for your open invitation retreat event.

  8. All interactions with the animals that live on the farm are at your own risk (alpacas may spit, bite, etc.)

No Smoking

Thank you for not smoking including vaping, e-cigarettes, pipes, etc. in the house.  We are near a  heavily wooded area so please completely  extinguish cigarettes, cigars, pipes, etc. in a safe manner.

Wildlife

We share this area with all manner of wildlife from bugs and deer to snakes and all sorts of flying insects.  Please do not feed any wildlife you encounter.  To help avoid unwanted animal visitors, do not leave food , drinks, scraps, open trash containers, dishes, bottles, etc. outside overnight  or unattended for extended periods of time.

No Illegal Substances

The use of any illegal substances in any form is not permitted.  No parties, no fraternity/sorority parties or other events, sports team gatherings, or any other type of special event may be held.

Moving Furniture

Nobody likes to move furniture so please do not move any furniture from it’s current location including beds, desks, lamps, tables, TV’s, patio furniture, etc.

Use of Electronics

We aren’t that tech-savvy so please do not move, unplug, reset, reconfigure, or otherwise modify any of the electronic devices     including tv’s, routers/modems, dvd/blu ray players, sound systems, etc.

No Eating or Drinking in the Bedrooms

Food and drinks do not mix well with bed linens so, please, no eating or drinking in any of the bedrooms.
